The NGO KALEIDOSCOPE proposes the implementation of an animation educational – cultural project under the title : The cultural identity of Europe : Myth, History, Art This project is organized within the framework of E.U birth celebration, fifty years since the Treaty of Rome signature on the 27 of March 2007 and the appointement by European Commission of 2008 as Year of Intercultural Dialogue. This project content aims at promoting two thematic subjects, the first one is called “ The Europeans and their toots” and the second “ The birth of EU and the process to European integration”. The introduction to the project is becoming through the Myth of Europe Rape by Zeus transformed in bull, because the continent of Europe ought its name to this myth. This subject presentation is becoming by means of an scenario with prototype icons made by an artist and works of art such as painting, sculpture, ceramics e.t.c from ancient times until today, all over the Europe. The text of French intelligent Paul Valery under the title “ Who is European” can be considered as the main direction for the development of the subject “ Art and Culture”. In accordance with Valery thougts the three cultures, the Ancient Greek, the Roman and Christianity have influensed on the creation of the conditions witche determine the identity of an European until today, a human being which is characterized by the European spirit. The Art and the Culture from ancient times until today, was and is, a link between peoples, a place of mutual influence, meeting, reading and recognizing of common codes expression and communication. They have also influenced on the birth of common values such as : democracy, pluralism, equality, social solidarity, common cultural heritage which are considered the roots of contemporary European culture and the E.U. The European Union was created due to the need of European peoples for peace, because they had live two wars within one half of a century. The Second World War ended in 1945, However , a new hope was birth inside from the remains of the war. The leaders of European countries decided to prevent the repetition of one situation like this. They researched a new plan, and really efficient, forced by the need to live united without the violence, the blond, the pain, and the destruction provoked by the war. They decided to destroy the barriers and to build bridges, aimed at bringing people close and living peacefully. These values support the construction of EU, which begun to be constructed step by step after the end of second world war, with the initiative of Robert Schuman και Jean Monnet, the fathers of EU. This project will be presented at the cities of Nafplio and Piraeus initially and it is addressed to the European citizens and especially to the youth. Its aims are to contribute to the European awarness through the information on the common roots of European civilization and the history of European integration. The project content is presented in the space by means of whole of actions complement between them, such as: - exhibition and installations - projection of audiovisual material - animation workshop through the role playing addressed to youth - publication of leaflets - Community Support Framework 2000- 2006 Operational Program “Employment and Vocational Training” Ministry of Employment and Social Protection Measure 6 : “ Reinforcement of unemployed employment with the active participation of NGO” The action is co financed 80% by the European Community Fund and 20 % by National Resourses |
